The automatic facial tissue making machine is an advanced piece of equipment designed for the automated production of facial tissues from rolls of tissue or facial tissue paper products. These machines are primarily utilized in manufacturing plants focusing on the large-scale production of facial tissues.
Recently, Mr. Faisal, a client from Saudi Arabia, made an investment in three home paper product production lines from Jota Machinery, including the automatic facial tissue making machine.
The journey from Mr. Faisal's initial inquiry to finalizing the purchase of three tissue production lines exemplifies a process built on mutual trust.
As a project manager, Mr. Faisal was unfamiliar with the intricacies of the facial tissue production line prior to our engagement.
To facilitate Mr. Faisal's understanding of the production line, our sales team was always ready to address his inquiries promptly.
First, our team developed a comprehensive flow chart detailing the facial tissue making process to provide Mr. Faisal with an overview of the production workflow.
Once he grasped the basics, we introduced the various machines relevant to the production line.
We began with the facial tissue folding machine, a critical component of the system.
This specialized machine is key to the folding operation.
When referring to "box draws" and "soft draws", it implies distinctions based on packaging methods.
Box Draws
Soft Draws
Typically, products packaged in boxes are termed box-drawn facial tissues, while those in plastic bags are considered soft-drawn facial tissues.
Regardless of the packaging method, all facial tissues undergo processing via the facial tissue folding machine.
The tissue jumbo roll is lifted onto the unwind stand using a hoisting mechanism; each stand possesses its own motor to propel the web forward.
During this production phase, an edge embossing unit first processes the paper.
Following this, the paper is cut by a rotary set of cutting blades, with the cut position determined by the preset size displayed on the touchscreen.
The cut sheet is then folded into a half-sheet by means of a vacuum folding roller, which incorporates adjustable vacuum valves at both ends.
A sheet separation manipulator subsequently transfers the half-sheet onto a curved stainless steel guide plate. An automatic counting mechanism tracks the number of half-folded sheets as they transition through the system.
Once counted, the sheets proceed to a discharge pallet, which includes drive power and speed adjustments, ready for connection with the log saw cutter.
Throughout the folding machine's operation, waste material is generated; a vacuum fan apparatus collects this waste to maintain operational efficiency.
This vacuum system prevents waste from disrupting production workflow, facilitating uninterrupted operations.
Some clients have specific requests for dedicated edge embossing or pattern embossing on their tissues.
Our custom embossing station allows for patterns to be applied before the tissue enters the edge embossing unit.
Once the half-finished facial tissues are produced, they are ready for cutting via a log saw cutting machine.
Jota's facial tissue log saw cutter is equipped with a servo system allowing for the cutting of tissues into lengths ranging from 400 mm wide, with widths between 90-120 mm and heights between 10-120 mm. Custom sizes are also available.
Standard cutting length ranges from 80 to 250 mm, achieving cutting speeds of up to 180 units per minute.
The log saw blades, positioned above the transport channel, are responsible for executing these precise cuts.
The verticality of the cut surface is maintained at a tolerance of 1 mm, ensuring exceptional cutting quality and enhancing the final appearance and consistency of the tissue product.
Automated lubrication and sharpening systems for the saw blades ensure optimal performance based on usage timing, with sharpening intervals adjustable through the user interface.
Available in both single-channel and dual-channel configurations, each channel is independently driven by its own servo motor, allowing for superior cutting precision. To facilitate accuracy in cuts, we have incorporated a photoelectric sensor for edge position monitoring, enabling real-time adjustments.
The tissue length is controllable via touchscreen, maintaining precision within 0.1 mm, adjustable between 80 mm to 250 mm cutting ranges (noting that higher length settings may reduce speed).
Clearly, the operation of our Jota log saw cutting machine is heavily reliant on its servo drive system and frequency converter.
Equally critical is the incorporation of an advanced PLC system capable of executing multiple commands, ensuring streamlined machine functionality.
Upon completion of log sawing, the semi-finished tissues become fully finalized products, paving the way for packaging to commence.
The stacked completed tissues first exit the log saw cutter and typically enter a dedicated conveying system for individual packages.
Connecting the log saw cutter with a fully automatic folding machine allows for automatic feeding of finished tissues onto the packaging conveyor.
If a semi-automatic folding machine is in use, an operator must manually place the stacked tissues onto the conveyor.
The packed tissues undergo flattening, sorting, and final placement onto a nylon pushrod.
The tissues are elevated onto a support plate and then pushed into the packaging zone, initiating the vertical sealing segment of the process.
A comprehensive process video explanation is available below:
The control panel of the Jota individual facial tissue packaging machine has been expertly engineered to eliminate vibrations, noise, and temperature fluctuations during use, maintaining stable operating speeds.
Featuring a 2 meter buffering conveyor belt for ample tissue storage, the paper-contacting components are constructed with stainless steel (the food-grade PU material is used for toilet paper feeding systems).
Servo motors handle wrapping film feeding; additionally, the positioning ensures precision in the patterned areas.
The feeding conveyor incorporates a tapping mechanism to enhance packaging flow.
Film cutting is performed by a servo-driven rotary spring cutter; this system prevents film deployment when no tissue is present, prolonging the cutter's service life.
Detection mechanisms mitigate risks of fabricating tissues that are too short or long, further guarding against overload situations that could affect machine integrity.
Equipped with multiple film guides and tissue conveyors, this machine ensures seamless production flow, minimizing stoppage due to empty bags or jams, thereby improving output efficiency.
The sealing process guarantees high standards and does not compromise packaging quality.
The motor features reverse rotation capability, with speed freely adjustable, and any operational anomalies or issues are displayed via the HMI for timely resolution.
The Jota double-head bag packing machine works in tandem with our individual packing machine.
This system requires only one operator to efficiently manage the bagging tasks.
Upon completion of the bagging process, pressing the manual button initiates automated operations for soft-draw tissue bagging, folding, cutting, and sealing.
PLC control governs the operations of this facial tissue cutting machine; its speed, temperature, and packaging dimensions are all adjustable.
The system performs automatic bagging, folding, sealing, and utilizes dual-temperature controls for optimal cut effectiveness.
Its ease of use effectively reduces labor costs.
