Tips for buying indoor LED screens

At present, more and more LED displays are being used indoors, especially in large hotels and supermarkets, attracting the favor of more advertisers. So, what should large hotels consider when choosing LED indoor full-color screens?

In an indoor setting, large full-color LED electronic displays with an area larger than 5m² mainly have three options: ordinary rear projection, DLP (digital LCD rear projection), and LED displays. Here are seven commonly used models and usage schemes for indoor LED displays:

Comparing Different Display Technologies

Rear-projection displays offer the advantage of small pixels and high resolution. However, they also suffer from low brightness, a small viewing angle, and a short lifespan for the lens lamp (only a few thousand hours).

Plasma splicing screens provide small pixel points and high clarity, but joints are visible, with the minimum joint distance being 1mm. Rear-projection and plasma screens are suitable for closer viewing.

LED displays come with high brightness and no joints, but they have coarse pixel particles and lower clarity. The density of commercialized indoor full-color LED displays can reach up to P4, meaning pixels per meter². LED displays are ideal for indoor places viewed from a distance.

Factors to Consider

When selecting an LED indoor display, the following factors should be taken into account:

Real Pixel vs. Virtual Pixel

Like outdoor full-color screens, indoor full-color screens have two types of pixels: real pixels and virtual pixels.

As with outdoor full-color screens, it's generally recommended that indoor full-color screens use Shilin cores for blue and green tubes and Epistar or Guangjia cores for red tubes. For high-end products, Japanese Nichia and American CREE cores are recommended.

Encapsulation Form

Indoor full-color LED displays have various LED surface forms, such as single light, sub-table paste, three-in-one table paste, etc. Table sticker packaging offers advantages such as a large viewing angle, good luminous consistency, and easy automated welding processing. However, its price is relatively high. Single light has a smaller angle, is slightly brighter, and is priced lower. Sub-table paste is essentially a single lamp. Single lamp and sub-table paste are cheaper, serving as transitional products.

Density

Due to the high caloric value of indoor full-color LED chips and the high control circuit density, the dot density of commercial full-color screens cannot currently be very high. They are mainly available in P5, P6, P7.62, P8, and P10.

Driving Mode

Indoor full-color LED displays are driven by constant current, using dynamic scanning mode (primarily 1/4 and 1/8 scanning modes). With the same core, a 1/4 scan uses more circuits and is therefore brighter.
