Buying batteries on Amazon is a dice roll in general, although if it is "ships and sold by Amazon", it should be ok.

With 3rd party batteries on Amazon, there is little way to tell if you are getting a good product.

There is a way to tell if you are getting a bad product: if the Dyson vacuum uses the cell type I suspect it does, anybody claiming more than mAh battery capacity is lying.

In general, with products that use custom battery packs, anyone that claims higher performance than the OEM model should be viewed with skepticism. Lithium ion batteries always compromise between capacity and current capability. Batteries that claim more capacity (Amp hours or milliAmp hours) may run longer, but with lower performance. The resulting capability may suck...or in this case, might not suck.

All that said, it is definitely possible to build a high quality 5 cell lithium ion battery profitably for around $30, so some of those non-Dyson batteries may indeed be good products. I just don't have any surefire way of telling you anything specific except that I see some dishonest sellers in the Amazon link.
